Overview
Companies pay for subscriptions using Pleo, and as one of the top request – customers asked more clarity for easier management. Companies embracing distributed faced challenges like blocked subscriptions and ownership transfers, cost redundancies and often relying on spreadsheets or single bank cards.
Minimum viable product
We aimed at creating a foundational area in Pleo to provide admins with a clearer understanding and visibility of company subscription spend over time. Insights from discussions with design customers highlight the potential benefits in optimising for budgets, aiding financial planning, and addressing subscription-related issues.
We envision a subscriptions-focused view as a key element, unlocking opportunities for future solutions to iterate upon. Beyond the existing product, this feature expected to enhance Pleo's chances of winning customer accounts payables.
Impact
We tracked how the number of MasterCard expense codes from online purchases grew over time. This growth reflects Pleo's strategy of encouraging companies to manage all their spending through Pleo — moving away from spreadsheets or a single company card for subscriptions. The more online transactions that flow through Pleo, the more revenue Pleo generates.
